Day 15 - Something You Don't Leave The House Without

My phone:

and my Wallet!

Day 14 - A TV Show You're Currently Addicted To

The Voice

I love that the first thing that the judges experience is the contestants' voice.
Not how they look, or act, or what they're wearing.
They listen and they decide if they want to work with that person.
I love it.
I love the "Battle rounds" too!

Day 12 - Your current relationship.

Successfully Married!

9 years today, we got married. (been together almost 13).
I say successfully married as it's not all totally "happily" married... for the most part yes it is, but there's also "grumpily married" "annoyingly married" and "painfully married".. hahha.. but mostly it's happily married.

I am so blessed by my wonderful man.
He's so EVERYTHING I needed in a husband.
((he's NOT at all like me)).

He's patient.
He's very very slow to anger...infact that makes me angry that he's so hard to anger!! I fly off the handle and he's so very calm ... and collected.  (just what I need!).

Forever and ever hun, Happy Anniversary too if you do read this xx

Day 10 - A photo of your Favourite place to eat.

My very favourite place in the world to eat.... is this place below....

It's not a restaurant, or fancy dining place....

It's laid back... relaxed...

It's my home... well not MY home, my Mum (and Dads) home
in my hometown of Kaitaia.

It's not all about the food... it's about the gatherings that happen in this place.

It's about the "catching up" when we come home... or when there's a special occasion.
It's about the Friends, and the whanau (family)...
It's about the LOVE......

...and about the food too :)

Day 9 - A picture of the last thing you purchased.

Oh well..... I bought a few things today....what was the last thing???  hold on I'll go photograph them... :)

Some new boxers for my son:

And a new "flower ring" for me:
(my last one broke so this is the replacement..)

So there that's that :)

Day 8 - your dream wedding.

My dream wedding.

Well, my dream wedding has always been a very laid back and informal (ish) day…. Even before I got pregnant and decided that it was ridiculous to spend loads of money on one day, when we now had a child to think about!!!.

I have never “dreamed” of a big fluffy white wedding day to be honest.  I’m not totally sure why, but I’m guessing it’s a mix of the following:

  • being an “anti-dress” girl.  Loving my jeans/tshirts, and actually being quite tomboyish.
  • Not having a fantastic body/face and knowing I would never be able to live up to that “beautiful stunning amazing bride” that everyone thinks of.
  • Because I’ve always believed that getting married is not about the day… but about the future together…about being a couple officially..legally!
  • Because I can’t be too serious for too long, and a solemn wedding service etc would freak me out.

So, Warren and I had a date that we wanted to get married,  we were working towards that date, when we found out that “yippee” we were pregnant……… even after we were not supposed to be (see that story HERE).

So…what were we to do? Do we postpone the wedding?  Speed it up? Hmmmm…
So we just decided to go ahead with it and “just do it” preggy and all, and as cheaply as possible, since extra money would be going towards the bub.

Our day was lovely, beautiful, surrounded by those we loved… and so I think for me it was actually my dream wedding… no fuss, no bother no glitz and glamour…. We got married at Heritage park, Maunu, and then went back to our house .. under a lion red marquee on our driveway… we all just ate late afternoon fingerfood, had some drinks and hung out together, and you know what… we were happy with that.  Then later that night those that wanted to came with us out for a buffet meal in town… then it was an early night for Mrs Preggy!  Lol.

You know what.. I would do a few more things to make it my "dream wedding" ... but most of it I would just do all over again ! It was enough of a dream for me! ;)

Day 7- A photo of an animal you'd like to keep as a pet

I would love to keep one of these animals as a pet!! hehehe.. Note the wild look in its eyes...
Yesss siree!! ;)
I'm sure Warren would let me keep him... (specially with the $$ he makes!).

No, but seriously... I've always thought it would be awesome to have a pet zebra!! They are so darn cute.... Even be like the movie "racing stripes" and saddle one up!! haha.  That would be a hoot!

Day6 - A song to match your mood.

Because I am thinking of my Mummy ... coming to terms without my Dad around now... I guess this song sums up my mood right now......  <3

Day5 - What makes you different from anybody else?

I am the only daughter of Charlie and Buffy Larkins.
I am the only sister of Bob.
I am the only mother of Asher and Kendyl.

I think there are 3 things that make me different from anybody else :) hehe.

((man that was an easy post for the day... I might do another one just for kicks)).

This is my "recent" favourite photo of my best friend :)

Love this guy xxx

Day3 - your idea of the perfect first date

I think the perfect first date would be nice and casual.... not out to a fancy restaurant or anything.... you'd be too nervous to eat properly let alone know which of the cutlery to use at which time!  haha.

I think a casual picnic dinner at the beach on a warm night... watching the sun go down.  I like this idea because you can actually "talk" .... whilst watching the waves... the goings on on the beach.

If  you go the movies on a first date... (and this so happened to me when I was set up on a date by a friend)... he picks you up... *awkward stifled conversation driving to the picture theatre*, then you get there, and watch the movie.... I know I tried hard to make sure my arm wasn't touching his, or my leg when I got too relaxed... or even worse that our hands didn't touch while reaching for the shared popcorn.... ahahah.. so no talking, and then a little bit of talking over coffee.. anyway it was weird, and I wouldn't want to go on a movie first date again! You learn hardly anything about the other person when you do a first date at the movies....  I didn't really know if I wanted to go out with him again or I was still in the same boat as I was when we had the first date.  I didn't find out anything more about him... so when he rang and asked me to the movies again (yeah, unimaginative 1st and second dates)... I said I was busy... hehe.

Anyway back to the "ideal" first date.
I think if you're at the beach, you've got nothing to hide behind...hehe.(like loud music at a nightclub... or a movie playing etc) . you Have to talk to each other otherwise it will be obvious. You are in a relaxed environment, and you can work out whether or not you would actually like to spend another date finding out about this person or not.

Oh and extra spesh on that first date would be if they had a guitar with them and could have a jam with you... hehe.. that would be just perfect!

Day2 - Your favourite movie.

Man... I'm 40, how can I be expected to choose just one movie???

While I love musicals....I just am the biggest sucker for a cheesy soppy love story so I would have to choose The Notebook....ahhhh xx

Day1 - Your favourite song.

Okay... now when it comes to songs or music, anyone who knows me, knows that I can't just have one song!  So I will narrow it down to :

My favourite song "right now"
My longest fave song
and My favourite song that I sing in my band.   :)

1a:  My favourite song right now: "You hold me now" by Hillsong United.

This song sums up my Dads journey to heaven 4mths ago... and helps cheer me up when I really miss him.  Puts things into perspective for me... like how could I wish him back to earth? How could I want him back here...when he's where he's longed to be... where we all long to be, in the presence of God who holds him now!? Makes me excited about when it's my turn to head there!! Wahooo!

1b:  My longest favourite song:  "Silver Springs" Fleetwood Mac.

I heard this via my parents record collection, and have always felt like I "knew" it... and loved it... I love the end bit where it talks about their love........... I love the musicianship, the words, Stevie :)  When I saw Fleetwood Mac perform it live I sung it LOUDLY at the top of my lungs much to Warrens disgust!! haha..
I would love to perform this song with a huge orchestra/strings one day... arrghhh :)

1c:  My favourite song to sing in my band: Toss up between "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benetar and "Barracuda" by Heart (another 2 of my very favourite bands/singers!!).  I love them because they're exciting to sing and leave you breathless, and you can't "not" concentrate or else you'll lose your place in the song .......hahah.. I just love them both.. so here they are:

Barracuda (Heart)

and:  Heartbreaker (Pat Benetar)

Righto...what are your favourite songs??

Something to kick me off again! A challenge.. a 30 day challenge!

Now.. yes, once again I have been slack at keeping up my blog....

I have been so stuck in my grief of late, that everything revolves around the loss of my Dad, and so I have tried to not blog, so as not to bog you all down in my emotional outpour ... (thoughtful aren't I?? hehe).

Anyway, so I was slowly making my way through my blog list tonight, when I came across this 30 day blog challenge on the blog "Following Moonshadows" and thought "what the heck, I'm gonna give it a crack!". Hopefully it will give me something to blog about, and kick me off again! :)

so here it is:

Who's going to join me and take up the challenge??
I'd love to read your posts!

I'll be back later to post Day 1.
